Intelligent Homes allows consumers in domestic homes to have secure, pervasive and affordable internet services within their home ranging from environmental controls, telemedicine and security monitoring. The product provides a platform for the new internet (IPV6) which is currently being launched in Europe and the rest of the world. In the United Kingdom alone, there are 30 million homes that will be able to access the service from 2015. The interoperable technology will allow white goods manufacturers to embed international standards based technology and automatically connect to the platform securely with minimum human interaction. Utility companies (gas and electricity) will be able to control white appliances, reducing the energy consumed of the residential home, preventing new power generation needing to be sourced / created by the utility companies. Public services will also be able to use the platform for value added services such as smart metering and other government services.
